Terry Katsma running for reelection to State Assembly
OOSTBURG — Republican State Representative Terry Katsma is running for a fifth term to represent the 26th Assembly District.
Katsma confirmed to Chumpbait he was running for reelection. “I will continue to be focused on tax reform and tax reduction; election integrity legislation; and empowering parents to determine what educational alternatives are best for their students,” said Katsma. “I will continue to be a reasoned, common sense representative providing prompt constituent services.”
The 26th Assembly District includes the cities of Sheboygan and Sheboygan Falls as well as the villages of Adell, Cascade, Cedar Grove, Oostburg, Random Lake and Waldo. Katsma, who lives in Oostburg, was first elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2014 after defeating Democrat Terry Van Akkeren. Prior to being elected, he spent 34 years in the financial industry and had served as President of Oostburg State Bank from 2012 until his election to the State Assembly.
During the 2021-2022 legislative session, he served his second term on the Joint Committee on Finance, the state’s budget writing committee, and served as Vice-Chair of the Assembly Committee on Financial Institutions.
In his most recent campaign finance report filed in January 2022, Katsma has nearly $60,000 in the bank. In the last six months of 2021, he raised $22,424.32.
